Japonica Rice

Black Japonica Rice is a special blend of hulled short grain black rice and medium grain mahogany rice. It has nutty & mushroom-like flavor and slightly savory and sweet notes.

Use for colorful side dish, rice salads and also for Risotto, Paella or Sushi dishes.

Cooking Instructions for plain rice:

  1. In a sauce pan add 2 cups of water / Cup rice, 1 Tbsp butter (opt).

  2. Bring to a soft boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 20-25 minutes.

  3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5-10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.

  4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve.

One cup of rice will yield: 2 cups of cooked rice.
