This special Kerri Samba rice, grown in Sri Lanka, grains are smallest and smoother, has separate taste and aroma than other samba rice.
Keeri Samba is gluten free and non-sticky rice, known for its appetizing aroma, and great for biryani dishes, fried rice and seafood curries.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice: 1. In a large sauce pan add 1 3/4 cups of water with 1 Cup of washed & rinsed rice, add 1/3 tsp salt (optional) 2. Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes. 3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbs all the liquid. 4. Drizzle a little butter or ghee into the rice (optional), Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
