Khmeli Suneli is an aromatic and fragrant Georgian spice & herb mix and is very popular seasoning blend in Georgia & the entire Caucasus & Eastern European regions.
Typically used in Georgian dishes, particularly in meat, vegetables, and sauces. Namely in
Georgian braised mutton, stewed chicken (Chakhokhbili) and Satsivi or adjika sauce.
Note: May add some blue Fenugreek powder to the recipe for added Georgian flavor.

Ingredients:
Marjoram, Dill Weed, Thyme, Basil, Celery Seed, Mint, Parsley, Coriander, Safflower, Summer Savory, Crushed Red Pepper, Hyssop, Black Pepper, Fenugreek, Bay Leaves.
Recipe for Chakhokhbili- Georgian chicken stew with Khmeli Suneli:
Wash and clean 2lbs chicken pieces. Sautee the chicken in oil over high heat, until brown in all sides. Add 1 diced onion and cook until soft. Season with salt and black pepper. Add 1tbsp ‘Khmeli Suneli mix’, add 4pcs large ripe chopped tomato and season with 1tsp sugar & salt to taste. Cover, bring to boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Add 4-5 chopped garlic cloves, 1/2tbsp chopped basil and 1tbsp chopped cilantro. Remove from heat, let stand for 5-10 minutes. Serve with fresh white flat bread.
