Licorice is the fleshy underground stem of the main root of leguminous plant 'Glycyrrhiza Glabra', that has been cut & shifted & has an intensely sweet, musty earthy flavor. Licorice root has been used to treat stomach ulcers, heartburn, colic, & ongoing inflammation of the lining of the stomach (chronic gastritis), sore throat, bronchitis, cough & infections caused by bacteria or viruses.*
To make tea: Boil 8 oz of water in a saucepan, add 1 tsp of licorice root, Remove from & steep for 5 min, strain and drink.
