This polished red raw rice is one of the Sri Lankan basic red rice, harvested from southern Sri Lankan paddy. A grain that has a richer, earthier flavor, more nutritious than brown rice, and has more fiber, protein, and has lowest glycemic index.
Cooking Instructions for plain red rice: 1. In a sauce pan add 3 cups of water/ 2 Cups of washed & rinsed rice, add 1/2 tsp salt (optional) 2. Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 20-30 minutes. 3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice softened but, not soggy nor chewy. 4. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
