This deep orange to red in colored split legume of Red Chief Lentil, an American Heirloom variety, with its tan seed coat removed. This medium sized quick cooking lentil have an authentic mild and earthly flavor, and soft creamy texture.
Ideal for soups, sauces, stews and curries or where a puree texture is desired.
Cooking Instruction:Wash, rinse and add to cups of water/ cup of lentil,bring to boil. Lower the heat, simmer 15-20 minutes or until tender & soft. Whisk lightly, remove the floating foam. Flavor with butter or oil, salt to taste and seasoning if desired. Cook uncovered over low heat until desired consistency. Serve warm with steamed basmati rice and choice of any veggie.
