The scarlet runner beans are larger than most others beans, and one of the older runner beans native to North America. It has striking dark red to purple streak , hold their shape well when cooked. It have a rich, delicious, nutty & savory flavor, meaty and succulent.Delicious in chili, casseroles, stews, soups, salads, bruschetta and sautés.
Basic preparation: Wash, rinse & soak overnight. Add 4 Cups of water / Cup of Bean, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 60-90 minutes or until tender (add more water as needed).
Yield: 2 1/4 cups of cooked beans / Cup of dry beans
