Sodium sulfate is the sodium salt of sulfuric acid, a white crystalline solid, has salty sulfurous taste. It is primarily used as a food preservative (e.g., to prevent dried fruit from discoloring) and as an antioxidant.
Used as anti-caking agent for diluting color powders, and as a filler in powdered home laundry detergents.
Decahydrate of Sodium sulfate is also known as 'Glauber's Salt', is made by simply mixed with water. Used as a laxative, to enhance elimination of toxins still present in the gastrointestinal tract.
