Ground Star Anise is the dried, star-shaped seed pod of the Chinese evergreen star anise
plant, ground into a fine textured powder. Ground Star Anise is a convenient way to add
the strong, sweet and licorice-like flavor of whole star anise to any receipe. Star anise powder is an ingredient of the traditional five-spice powder blend and in Vietnamis pho.
Suggested Uses:
Ground star anise characterizes Eastern Chinese cuisine, Indian, Indonesian and Malayan cooking. Traditionally is used in savor recipes, particularly with meats. It is often added to soups, stews and braising broths. Ground Star Anise has many great application including rice pudding, steamed cabbage, roasted/ bbq chicken, or poached fish/ shellfish.

In traditional Chinese medicine, star anise is prescribed as a digestive aid, promoting health of female reproductive organs, menstrual cramps and cold or flu symptoms and for lactating mothers to increase breast milk.
