Stevia is a sweet leaf of the herbal Bertoni plant, native to Paragua and Brazil. It is known for its natural sweetness, has low-glycemic index, zero calories and delightful taste. The leaves contain chemicals called ‘steviol glycosides’, a glycoside, that have a highly concentrated sweet flavor (30-40 times sweeter than sugar) and has very little bitter after taste.

Used as an alternative to cane sugar, aspartame and other no-calorie, artificial sweetener for many soft drinks, stevia leaf tea and a stevia leaf extract.

Add 1/4tsp dried leaf /cup prior to steeping tea.
