Recipe to make Shish Kebab: In a bowl mix in 500gm ground beef, 1/8 cup chopped almonds, ¼ cup chopped onion, 1tsp salt, 1tsp olive oil and 1tablespoon seven-spice mix. Make roll into a small kebab (2 1/2- to 3-inch cylinder), keep aside in a lightly oiled tray. Heat 2 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat add 1 thinly sliced onions, cook, until translucent, add 3pcs diced tomatoes and 1tsp salt and cook for 5 minutes, stir in 2tsp sumac. Add the kebabs and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven add some tomato sauce over kebab, garnish with sliced bell pepper, bake again for 7-10 minutes or until kebabs are cooked thru
It is beyond spectacular! I used some of it to make koussa mihshi, immediately I was transported back to when I lived in Syria. I was there between 2006- 2010 1/2. Foods and smells give us great memories and comfort.
