This aromatic 7 spice blends add extra spicy sweetness and lightly tangy fruity flavor to
Syrian dishes.
It adds full-bodied taste to chicken and lamb stews; beef casseroles; ground meat for meat pies, meat balls, kofte / shish kebab; soups and roasted vegetables. Also, can be used as a rub for grilling lamb or poultry.
Ingredients: Aleppo Pepper, Black Pepper Ground, All Spice, Cinnamon, Coriander, Clove, Cumin.
Recipe to make Shish Kebab:
In a bowl mix in 500gm ground beef, 1/8 cup chopped almonds, ¼ cup chopped onion, 1tsp salt, 1tsp olive oil and 1tablespoon seven-spice mix. Make roll into a small kebab (2 1/2- to 3-inch cylinder), keep aside in a lightly oiled tray. Heat 2 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat add 1 thinly sliced onion, cook, until translucent, add 3pcs diced tomatoes and 1tsp salt and cook for 5 minutes, stir in 2tsp sumac. Add the kebabs and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven add some tomato sauce over kebab, garnish with sliced bell pepper, bake again for 7-10 minutes or until kebabs are cooked thru.
