This mildly spicy and aromatic spice blend is used for everyday cooking of Tunisian & also in Algerian grilled meats or fish, poultry dishes, soups, stews & tagine recipes, and Couscous dishes.
Recipe for Grilled leg of lamb using Tabil Spice Mix:
In a bowl put 1 cup low fat yogurt, mix in 1-2tsp ‘Tabil spice mix’, 3-4 minced garlic cloves, 2tbsp lemon juice and salt to taste. Add 4-5lb chunks of boneless leg of lamb, coat and cover, chill overnight. Grill the marinated lamb 10–15 minutes per side until tender. Let rest for 10-15 minutes. Slice thinly and serve on a plate, garnished with sliced lemon. and yogurt sauce.
