Volcano Rice is a blend of brown rice and red heirloom rice grown on West Java’s mineral-rich volcanic soil. Rice cooked to a moist and tender grains with a hint of vanilla.
Volcanic rice is dense with nutrients and fiber, transform any rice dish into a more flavorful and nutritious meal.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 1 ¾ cups of water / Cup rice, salt to taste, 1 Tbsp butter (opt).
- Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 25-30 minutes or grain are soft & tender.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with fork and ready to serve rice alone.
One cup of rice will yield: 2 1/2 cups of cooked rice.
