Wehani Rice

Wehani rice is a hybrid reddish brown whole grain aromatic rice developed from Indian basmati rice.

When cooked it turns an earthy honey-red color, nutty & slightly chewy and has aroma of hot peanuts or popcorn.

Use in pilafs and as a side dish.

Cooking Instructions for plain rice:

1. In a sauce pan add 2 cups of water or broth / Cup rice, 1/2 tsp sat (opt), 1 Tbsp butter (if desired).


2. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 45-50 minutes.


3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.


4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve.

One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
