Mousseron Mushrooms are known as ‘fairy
ring mushrooms’ for their ring-shaped growth
pattern in grassy fields or lawns. These have
small, saucer shaped golden-brown caps, widely
spaced gills and very thin stems. When cooked
mushrooms are chewy, slightly crunchy, and
tender with a spicy-sweet scent and a mild,
earthy, and nutty flavor. Mousseron are best
for braising, sautéing, boiling, and frying.
Their hearty texture make them ideal in
braised stews and meat dishes. Delicious in
pasta, polenta, risotto or other rice dishes
Reconstitute: Rinse and soak in boiling water
for 15-20 min, agitating occasionally, drain
and rinse, add to the recipe.
