This is real from Hungary Hungarian Paprika not Hungarian STYLE. It is the best just like everything else from Kalustyan's. I highly recommend it.

Sumac Ground

Interesting product. Definitely not the same as green cardamom, which I am more familiar with. I tried using the black cardamom in chai with mixed results---this is not surprising, as I have read it is used more in savory dishes. Black cardamom pods are larger than green, and the flavor is more earthy and pungeant. They have a particular smell: harsh, like a cleaning product. I am interested to explore this ingredient further.

These beans were not old, dry, and cracked like what often happens when you buy from mysterious sellers on e-commerce sites. I believe Kalustyans sources excellent products, have never been disappointed. I also believe they sustain high sales volumes, due to restaurant business, which keeps inventory fresh. Gigante beans should be rich and creamy, as these were.
